dr laurie steelsmithDr. Laurie Steelsmith graduated from Bastyr University in Seattle, WA in 1993 with her Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine, Master’s of Science in Acupuncture, and Bachelor of Science in Natural Health Sciences. In her practice and her teachings, she blends the benefits of healing techniques from the Western naturopathic tradition with the ancient art of Chinese medicine. She is also a licensed naturopathic physician and acupuncturist.

She is the Medical Director of Steelsmith Natural Health Center, a state-of-the-art healing center for natural medicine. Dr. Steelsmith is also the co-author of the best-selling book Natural Choices for Women’s Health (published by Three Rivers/Random House) and Great Sex, Naturally (published by Hay House). Both are step-by-step guides for women to enhance their health and the quality of their lives.

Widely respected for her views on natural medicine, Dr. Steelsmith has appeared on CNN’s “HealthWatch,” Fox and NBC news affiliates, and has been interviewed on over 100 national radio programs. She is frequently quoted in popular magazines including Woman’s World, Self, Woman’s Day, Natural Health, Women’s Health, Whole Life Times, Body + Soul, Let’s Live, Better Nutrition, Vegetarian Times, Alternative Medicine, WebMD, Health, First for Women, OnFitness, and Delicious Living.

Dr. Steelsmith wrote a monthly column for the Honolulu Advertiser, Hawaii’s premier newspaper, for ten years, and she is a regular contributor to national and international publications. She currently writes a weekly blog for Vitacost.com. She also served on the State of Hawaii Naturopathic Board and was VP of the Hawaii Society of Naturopathic physicians. Dr. Steelsmith has had a busy private practice on Oahu since 1993, and the Honolulu Weekly has credited her with being the best alternative practitioner for women’s health care in Honolulu.
